Hyundai, Achieves 100 Million Accumulated Vehicle Production

On Sept. 30, Hyundai Motor Co. achieved cumulative vehicle production of 100 million vehicles 57 years after entering the automobile industry since 1967.

Hyundai Motor produced the Cortina as the first vehicle at its Ulsan plant in November 1968, a year after the company's founding, and mass-produced the country's first independent model, "Pony," in 1975, providing an opportunity for the automobile to become popular in Korea. In addition, it exceeded 1 million units of all models in 1986, reached 10 million units in cumulative production in 1996, and since then, it has built factories overseas such as Turkiye, India, Alabama, and the Czech Republic, and has continued to accelerate vehicle production, exceeding 50 million units in 2013.

Hyundai Motor Company launched the premium brand 'Genesi's and the high-performance brand 'N' in 2015, followed by the 'Ioniq 5' based on the dedicated electric vehicle platform 'E-GMP' in 2021, and continued to grow by targeting emerging markets such as Indonesia and India. Through this, the company achieved its highest performance since its foundation in 2023 and achieved cumulative vehicle production of 100 million vehicles in September 2024.

Hyundai held an event to celebrate the achievement of 100 million global vehicles at the Ulsan plant's delivery center, and delivered the vehicle to customer who chose the "Ionic 5" as his first car after the ceremony to kick out the firtst production vehicle after 100 million, the "Ionic 5."
